MUSKOGEE GUITAR SEARCH
On our way to our lakehouse last week we stopped in Muskogee, famous for the Merle Haggard song "Okie From Muskogee." To celebrate the Oklahoma Centennial they put up 24, 8' tall guitar statues throughout the city. We decided it would be fun to try to find all of them since online they provide you with a map to where they are supposedly located... We ended up spending several hours walking and driving finding 22 of the 24 guitars taking our pictures with them. Most guitars weren't where they were supposed to be located and we just happened upon them but we had fun.
WEEKEND AT THE LAKE
So this past weekend we decided to spend a couple nights at our lake house to finish painting and cleaning for July 4th. Sadly it rained the whole weekend and a coldfront came in and we didn't get to swim. It cleared up for a bit on Saturday evening so at 8pm Suse and I decided to try out our new 20 dollar, walmart, 2 person boat.... we blew it up and realized that it didn't come with any oars and we didn't buy any. ROFL So left to our own devices we took a fence plank and hack sawed it into 2 pieces to use as makeshift oars. The water was up really high and we couldn't just walk out to our dock so we waded through the water dragging along our boat. We finally get it into the water but can't figure out how to get in the stupid thing without getting all wet. Needless to say after several long minutes of laughing hysterically about our situation we make it in our boat and out to the middle of the lake. Once there I kept feeling airbubbles but didn't think anything of it... it started to get dark so we tried to head in but our make shift oars only spun us around in circles. We ended up singing the gilligans island theme song and finally made it back to our dock. Once there we got out of the boat and realized that our boat air plugs were never pushed in so we could have sank out in the middle of the lake. Getting out of the boat Suse asks if I was gonna blog about it... ROFL
